Your performance review
The life of a review, from your side of the table.
How it goes
- HR starts a review for you.
- Your reviewer — or reviewers — fill in ratings and comments. You don't need to do anything yet.
- When every reviewer has submitted, you get an email asking you to review and sign.
- Open the review. You'll see each question with your reviewers' consolidated answers, your goals with the ratings they received, and the scores.
- Add your optional written response, sign in the signature box, and submit.
The review then completes: the overall score is calculated, a PDF is generated and emailed to you, and you can download it from the review page whenever you like.
You can open a review while it is still in progress. Until every reviewer has submitted you'll see a progress note — for example "2 of 3 reviewers have submitted" — rather than the answers.
Appealing instead of signing
When a review reaches you, signing off is one option and appealing is the other.
If you disagree, use Disagree with this review? and say what you disagree with instead of signing. It goes back for a response, you're notified when it's answered, and then you sign off.
You get one appeal per review, so say everything you want considered the first time. There is no second appeal. The appeal and the response both stay on the review and appear in its PDF.
Notes from your reviewer
Your review may include a Notes from your reviewer section — short, dated observations a manager or HR kept about your work and chose to share on this review.
You only ever see the notes they deliberately included, each stamped with who wrote it. They appear in the PDF too.
Your past reviews
Past reviews live under My reviews on the Reviews page, and in your /me
workspace. Overall scores are shown in words alongside the number — for example
Exceeds Job Requirements (4.1).
A History timeline at the foot of each review shows every step: who did what, and when.
